This Domain Registration Agreement applies whenever you register, renew, transfer, or otherwise manage a domain name through Rapid Ready AI (we act as a reseller of domain registration services on behalf of accredited registrars). It supplements our Terms of Service and, where applicable, the policies of the relevant domain registry and registrar (for example ICANN for generic top-level domains, or the .nz Domain Name Commission for .nz domains).
1. Definitions
"Domain" means a domain name registered or managed through our Services. "Registrant" means the person or organisation identified as the owner of the Domain. "Registry" means the organisation that maintains the authoritative database for a top-level domain (such as .com or .nz). "Registrar" means the ICANN- or ccTLD-accredited entity that processes the registration on the Registry's systems.
2. Our Role
We act as a reseller, arranging registration, renewal, transfer, and DNS management of Domains through one or more accredited Registrars. Your registration is also subject to the Registrar's own registration agreement and the applicable Registry's policies, which take precedence over this Agreement in the event of a direct conflict.
3. Registration Obligations
By registering a Domain through us, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete registrant, administrative, technical, and billing information, and to promptly update it if it changes. Registries and Registrars may require verification of this information, and inaccurate or unverifiable details can result in suspension or cancellation of the Domain.
4. Eligibility
Some top-level domains (including .nz and other country-code domains) have eligibility requirements, such as a local presence or connection to a particular country. It is your responsibility to confirm you meet the eligibility criteria for any Domain you register.
5. Fees, Terms and Renewal
Domains are registered for a fixed term (typically one or more years) and renewed on payment of the applicable renewal fee. Fees are due before the expiry date shown in your client area. We may send renewal reminders as a courtesy, but you remain responsible for tracking expiry dates and ensuring timely payment.
6. Auto-Renewal and Expiration
Where auto-renewal is enabled on your account, we will attempt to charge your saved payment method ahead of expiry. If a Domain is not renewed by its expiry date, it may enter a grace or redemption period (set by the Registry, not by us) during which renewal is possible at an additional cost, after which the Domain may be released for registration by any other party. We are not liable for the loss of a Domain that expires due to non-payment or an out-of-date payment method.
7. WHOIS Information and Privacy
Registrant information may be published in the public WHOIS/RDAP database unless privacy or proxy protection is available and enabled for the relevant top-level domain. Where privacy protection is not available (as is the case for some country-code domains, including .nz), your registration details may be publicly visible as required by the Registry.
8. Domain Transfers
You may transfer a Domain to or away from us in accordance with the applicable Registry's transfer policy. We will provide the authorisation code (EPP/auth code) required for an outbound transfer on request, provided the Domain is unlocked, not subject to a transfer restriction period, and any outstanding fees are settled.
9. DNS and Nameserver Management
Unless you point your Domain to third-party nameservers, we may provide DNS hosting for your Domain. You are responsible for the accuracy of any DNS records you configure, including records affecting email delivery, and for the consequences of misconfiguration.
10. Suspension and Cancellation
We may suspend or cancel a Domain where required by the Registry or Registrar, where registration information cannot be verified, where the Domain is used in breach of our Acceptable Use Policy, for non-payment, or in response to a valid legal or dispute resolution order.
11. Dispute Resolution
Disputes over ownership of a Domain (for example, trade mark disputes) are handled under the applicable Registry's dispute resolution policy, such as the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) for generic top-level domains or the Domain Name Commission's dispute resolution service for .nz domains. We will comply with any binding decision made under these policies.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss of a Domain due to Registry or Registrar action, expiry, non-payment, third-party dispute proceedings, or events outside our reasonable control. Our liability in connection with domain registration services is otherwise limited as set out in our Terms of Service.
13. Termination
You may cancel a Domain registration at any time, noting that registration fees already paid are generally non-refundable. We may decline to renew, or may terminate, a registration where this Agreement, our Terms of Service, or the Registry's policies have been breached.
14. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of New Zealand, without prejudice to any mandatory Registry-specific policy that applies to a particular top-level domain.
